Create photos and videos
Photo Room turns a supported 3D project into a composed image or short model animation on your phone. Rendering happens in the app; Volum does not send the model to a cloud rendering service.
Open Photo Room
Open a project and tap Photo Room beside View in 3D. You can also open Photo Room while previewing a local model before saving it to Volum.
Choose the output format
Tap Format in the bottom toolbar, then choose:
- Square — 1:1 at 1080 × 1080;
- Portrait — 4:5 at 1080 × 1350;
- Landscape — 1.91:1 at 1080 × 566;
- Reel / Story — 9:16 at 1080 × 1920.
The format chip beneath the canvas is another shortcut to the same chooser. Reel / Story also shows a safe area to help keep important content away from common interface overlays.
Compose the scene
Use the remaining toolbar controls to prepare the shot:
- Scene selects a solid color, gradient, or photo background.
- Model changes the model position, size, view, turn, and tilt.
- Text adds movable, resizable, and rotatable titles or callouts.
- Motion creates a spin, flip, roll, or tumble animation and previews it before export.
The controls panel can be collapsed when you need more canvas space.
Share or save
Tap Done, then:
- tap Share photo to render a JPEG and immediately open the phone's Share / Save sheet;
- tap Render MP4 to explicitly render a silent 1080p H.264 video, then share or save it;
- when offered, add the rendered photo back to the project and optionally use it as the project cover.
Photo export is a single action: you do not need to prepare the image and then tap a second download button.
If a model cannot open
Photo Room requires a model that the mobile 3D viewer can load. Large or unsupported viewer assets can still use the rest of the project detail screen, but Photo Room may be unavailable for that model.
